Introduction

Casa Juanita, also known as the House of Colors, is an architectural gem located in the coastal town of Arrieta. With its cheerful and colorful facade, this historic house is a testimony of love and hope.

Location of Casa Juanita

Casa Juanita is located in Arrieta, a charming fishing village in the north of Lanzarote. The house is located on the seafront, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic.

History of Casa Juanita

Casa Juanita was built in 1916 by Juan de León Perdomo, an emigrant who made his fortune in Argentina, for his daughter Juanita, who suffered from tuberculosis. Following medical advice that sea iodine could help his daughter, Juan bought a large estate by the sea and built the house. Unfortunately, Juanita passed away in 1921, but her memory lives on in the beautiful house her father built for her.

What to see at Casa Juanita

Casa Juanita is famous for its colorful facade and unique architecture. Although the house is not open to the public, visitors can admire it from the outside and enjoy the sea views. Just at the foot of the house, there is a puddle known as the Charcón, which adds even more charm to the place.

Casa Juanita is a place full of history and beauty. Although Juanita’s story is tragic, her legacy lives on in the colorful house her father built for her. If you visit Lanzarote, do not miss the opportunity to see this architectural jewel and to feel the peace and beauty of the place where Juanita found solace in her last years.
