The César Manrique House Museum was the artist’s residence for almost 20 years and reflects his love for Lanzarote and his commitment to protecting the environment. The house is built on a series of volcanic bubbles and blends perfectly into the island’s landscape. During the visit, you will be able to explore the different rooms of the house, which include a living room, a dining room, a study, and several rooms. History of the César Manrique House Museum

The César Manrique House Museum was built in 1968, when the artist decided to return to Lanzarote after living in New York for several years. Manrique designed the house with the aim of creating a space that would integrate with the volcanic landscape of the island. In 1988, Manrique moved to a new house in Haría and Tahíche’s house became the headquarters of the César Manrique Foundation, an organization dedicated to the promotion of art and the protection of the environment.
