Location and Access to the Corona Volcano
The route of the Corona Volcano is located only two kilometers from the town of Yé, in the district of Haría. The parking lot is located next to a church on the road to San Francisco Javier, from where the GC-1 trail begins towards the spectacular crater of the extinct volcano of La Corona, more than 600 meters above sea level.

Characteristics of La Corona Volcano
The Corona Volcano is a volcanic edifice formed by slag and lapilli, with an estimated age of 3000 years. Its eruption must have been spectacular, creating a terrace over the sea of 18 km2, which constitutes the Malpaís de la Corona. The volcano has a maximum height of 609 meters, with a semicircular crater of 450 meters in diameter and a depth of 190 meters.
Hiking Tips
The Corona Volcano trail is a 3.4 km round trip that is considered moderately challenging and takes an average of 1 hr 5 min to complete. Good walking shoes are recommended as the terrain is quite uneven. Also, please note that access to the interior of the crater is closed and only experienced hikers are recommended to go around the crater as the trail is narrow and very exposed.Also, although the trail is well marked, we will provide a map in this article to help you plan your route.Simply park at this site : Church parking lot

Route Experience
The road departs from Yé, a town in the north of the island of Lanzarote. At the beginning, the path runs between vine, fig and cactus crops, protected by stone walls perpendicular to the direction of the trade winds. Then, the road turns into a trail, ascending a small rocky slope, until it reaches the edge of the crater. From there, you will begin the ascent to the crater rim on the left side, without a clear defined path and steeply sloping at first.
